Abstract:
The world of emergency medicine has come a long way since the State of Georgia passed a law in 1972 requiring ambulance service providers to be trained and licensed. This story is a quick glimpse into the world of a paramedic’s first year on the job after the law took effect. Follow along as Thomas abandons his dead end factory job and learns the ropes of his new profession. You will probably laugh when he laughs, and possibly hurt when he hurts but in any event you’ll meet some interesting, and some might even say strange, people along the way.
