Abstract:
“No Time To Retire,“ an autobiography of 68 years of journalism, raises the controversial questions of whether newspapers should have their own ethics committee, such as lawyers and doctors do, and whether photographers should be banned from the courtroom.

The book also details episodes in the reporter’s career including interviews with former President Harry S. Truman (and his salty response) and movie stars Jane Fonda, Bette Davis, Joan Crawford, Cary Grant, Gregory Peck and Angie Dickinson. Often humorous, sometimes sad, the book is a revelation of how newspapers were in the past and how they are today.
