Abstract:
Thanks, Mom & Dad, a Family History, tells of the George family and the Wood family (and adjacent families) from 1733 to the present. The major area covered speaks to the merger (marriage) of Laverna George and Harry Wood in 1914. Besides expected ancestry lists it speaks to conditions of life during each major period – the work they did, the wars they fought in, medical problems, household help, etc. The George family resided in America from 1750 or earlier whereas the Wood family immigrated in 1907 from England. The author spent thirty years researching in the U.S., in England, and in Scotland.
