Abstract:
Al Mack came back from Vietnam starting to doubt his country's involvement in that war. He saw the futility of a war that could be won, but was not allowed to be won by the politicians in Washington.
His army career ended at Ft. Gordon, Georgia late in December 1967. Al's soon to be out of service involvement with some of Augusta's prostitutes left him almost broke and forced him into hitchhiking to the West Coast where he was to enroll in small college near Portland, Oregon.
