Abstract:
When Dad retired, he played golf. Times have changed. Today's retirees have a different plan. They see retirement as a time to reinvent themselves; after all, they marched in the streets, explored sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll. They'll choose adventure over safety, trade green eyeshades for whisks, calculators for palettes. And they’ll live longer than did Dad. They'll have time to explore life's options. If they continue work—most will—they'll have money to fund the exploration. What will they choose to do? Skinning the Cat looks at how we’ll spend our time in retirement, whether it’s continuing full-time work, starting a business, working part time, volunteering or traveling.

Joan Fitting Scott's book, "Skinning The Cat - A Baby Boomer's Guide To The Retiree Lifestyles" epitomizes the expression "Big things come in small packages."
Chock full of useful information for retirees, Scott's little book brims with tips and suggestions on every page. She navigates retirees through options they may never have previously considered.
Ms. Scott has thorougly researched her subject and with clarity cites in detail web sites, books, organizations and phone numbers, enabling the reader to plan a rich and rewarding reirement.
Scott depicts retirement years as a potpourri of exciting and varied options for all tastes. Older retirees, who have become bored with their lives, will become excited and energized. Reading myriad ideas presented in this gem of a book, they will begin to realize how fulfilling, vital and interesting the "older years" can become.
Joan Fitting Scott's "Skinning The Cat" is a must read for soon-to-be and already retired men and women.
