Warning: This tribute to Tupac Shakur may be detrimental to your ignorance. The benefit this book has over others is that “Thug Poetry” is really Gospel Poetry in that it focuses is on self-awareness. This book draws from a vast range of experiences and transforms thoughts into lyrical and succinct verse. Istawa’s poetry is so relevant to thug-life it may be difficult to hate this book and love Pac’s poetry. Thugs were here since the beginning of time. Remember Judas was a thug who also happened to be a banker, not a rap-artist. Your thug is what manifests when you lose focus of Christ as your Lord and Savior.
