Abstract:
This story, An Act of Kindness, depicts the childhood of a father who is telling his son about a very special friend he had during his childhood days. This story identifies the character of two boys set in the 1950’s, whose friendship is demonstrated by a single Act of Kindness. BJ comes from a family with financial strength while Albert comes from a lower income family. The two have a bond in friendship that is strong. The story demonstrates how one boy’s action provides a lifetime of memories for the other. They share the excitement and wonder as they travel from the heat of the valley to the coolness of the ocean exploring new sites and sounds.
