Abstract:
Would you like to achieve success and happiness? Now you can track your progress in self-improvement using a systematic method of self-examination first developed by Benjamin Franklin. To communicate the principles of success and moral excellence was Franklin’s hope for the work he never finished, The Art of Virtue. Using his book of charts, he daily evaluated himself on the 13 virtues that he desired to master—temperance, silence, order, resolution, frugality, industry, sincerity, justice, moderation, cleanliness, tranquility, chastity, and humility. Benjamin Franklin’s Art of Virtue Journal presents Franklin’s approach, with illustrated journal pages for writing, drawing, and reflection.

A Character Classic with Writing Opportunities , 08/13/2007
Reviewer: Andrew Pudewa
"Today, at a time when character and virtues are so often given a back seat in an education environment preoccupied with test scores and adequate yearly progress, a simple resource like Paula's book, which integrates the content of a classic with writing opportunities, while focusing on virtues and personal growth is sorely needed--if not indispensable." --Andrew Pudewa, Director, Institute for Excellence in Writing.

  Great Book , 08/07/2007
Reviewer: John Bishop
Ben Franklin was a doer. While he was not perfect he lived his life with integrity and virtue. Ms. Benner's book is a great read about a great American. The book has wonderful life lessons that are just as important today as they were over 100 years ago.

Supports Development of an Excellent Discipline , 10/12/2013
Reviewer: Jay Galligher
Ben Franklin's discipline is a classic character development strategy. I have not seen much written about it. Paula Benner's application for child development is no less brilliant than the author's original creation and application in his own life. I have not hesitated to recommend this book to adults.
