Abstract:
The Red River meandered over its bed along the Texas-Oklahoma border as it had for centuries. The Red wasn’t aware in the summer of 1940 that the recipe for a terrible war was cooking off around the globe.

Will Davis and his friends were thinking about the looming war though even as they dodged quicksand on the Red and played football in Leonard Park.

In the blink of an eye, Will found himself dodging depth charges in the Pacific, front and center on the world stage; his friends scattered to the four corners of the planet by the epic conflict.
