Abstract:
In this fantasy/romance novel, a young commander is torn from his home. Believing his people perished, Shance is drawn into a political struggle on another world. With his own people lost, the commander agrees to serve a new cause, but soon learns he has been deceived to gain his cooperation. Knowing he must return home, Shance is torn between that and his love for Nadeena, the daughter of the commander he helped defeat. In time, both Shance and Nadeena learn the meaning of commitment, the power of destiny, and the strength—as well as the fear—that lies buried in the human heart.
