Abstract:
Leonard Townsend is intrigued by several desperate messages left on his answering machine by Marilyn, a woman who says she needs his help and sounds just like the famous movie star of the same name. Before the private detective can find her, he meets with another client whose daughter is in big trouble and needs help. Both women pull him in different directions until he begins to see a possible connection and more dead bodies than even he can stomach. Each clue he uncovers puts him in more danger as he follows the trails through Texas honky tonks, rain slicked night streets and sandy Gulf Coast beaches.
