Abstract:
“When I was growing up, we thought that books came from the sky,” said author Willy Welch, “we never thought they came from a real live person.” That is what The Festival of Books is all about. Its objective is to make books come alive through a year long mission of using activities and events to provide children with a joy of reading. The apex of the program being the festival itself which is a week long celebration of parades, presentations and contest that show the children’s love of reading.

This easy to read manuscript will help anyone who wishes to increase literacy in their community or school.
