Abstract:
Breanne just got the news that her father passed away. Devastated, she writes her thoughts in her diary. As each hour goes by, Breanne learns about death and comes to terms with her feelings, questions, and thoughts. Breanne, ever so gently, learns about obituaries, caskets, and funerals. Over a four-day period, Breanne writes down her experiences and has an opportunity to ask questions, make a list of important memories, and realizes all of the people she can talk with. Breanne begins her grieving by understanding her emotions and the funeral preparations going on around her.

In a school, at times some of our parents pass on. I was given this book to use as a reference to assist my students in expressing their thoughts and feelings regarding death and funerals. It is very helpful and opens the doors for education and discusion.
