Abstract:
Dear Readers,

Over the years our family has been through some trials and tribulations that has been hard to endure. The old adage is, “You never know what you have until it’s gone.” This book has been put together as an attempt to revive what remains of a broken family. Because of the number of emotional events, I have decided to coach my daughters in helping me to compose our first book of poems to begin the healing process. The words enclosed have been an outlet for my daughters and I the result of many hurdles through our lives. My youngest daughter (Kendra) has included throughout this book some of her paintings, which has helped her to release her frustrations of attending college, holding a job and concerns for my health and pending divorce.

Over the past several years I have been experiencing significant health problems which have required numerous visit to the hospital. Many of these words were composed during those times. I found writing the poems to be a relief for all that I was experiencing. Staying busy helps me with the confusion by life seem to represent. Well, we come together to build on our losses. This book was also composed as a challenge for us to move on with life. It has reminded us what is most important in life.

Wild…what an emotional roller coaster life can be. The only way to escape the feelings of being overwhelmed with grief was to call on our Lord and to let my daughters’ words help guide me.

Finally, I want to share this book with the fathers who want to be improved role models, to those who want to improve the quality time spent with their family and to challenge those who are not the kind of father and husband they should be. Your family is the most important jewel left to save our future. My daughters are my strength.
