This is a critique of the gospels from two points of view: 1) a copy editor accustomed to checking facts, accuracy, and logic 2) a Roman Catholic with an enlightened awareness of the Jewishness of Jesus, his Apostles, and his disciples.

Abstract:
A 21-page introduction explains how the author, a Notre Dame graduate, decided to do a verse-by-verse critique of the gospels. He thought it would be interesting to view the gospels from the point of view of a copy editor, one accustomed to checking facts, accuracy, and logic, and also to look at the gospels with an enlightened awareness of the Jewishness of Jesus, his Apostles, and his disciples. The author worked for a number of years as both a copy editor and editor and is well-accustomed to verifying accuracy. One of his daughters marrying a Jewish man ignited the author’s desire to learn more about the Jewishness of Jesus, his Apostles, and his disciples. Reading the gospels from these two points of view turns up some remarkable findings. Item: The Jewish concept of “messiah” was different from that of the early Church. Item: Each gospel writer continually refers to “the Jews” as Jesus’ adversary, when Jesus, his Apostles, and disciples were themselves Jews.
