Abstract:
Arrigo Cavelleri is a nine-year-old singing sensation in 18th Century Naples. He’s also a petty thief. When he meets scam artist Bruno Croce, he’s easily persuaded that his singing talent can make him a fortune. He isn’t told that he’ll have to be castrated first. Eager to leave his life of poverty, he travels with Bruno and two other boy singers to Rome, where he learns at last what’s in store for him. It takes all his nerve and cleverness to get away from Bruno and back to Naples.
