Abstract:
Brightened Corners is a fictional story about a Harvard graduate unable to decide on a career. Being disillusioned about the court system and so many youthful offenders, he decides to take a ride to the end of a railroad line to think things over. There, unexpectedly, he is confronted by an unruly mob of boys whom he befriends. Instead of staying a day, he spends a whole year reforming the whole village. Throughout the book he reminisces about his Aunt Blanche, actually the author of this book.
