Abstract:
ROCKINGHORSE is a modernized, satirical adaptation of the multi-award-winner, TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD. The screenplay, ROCKINGHORSE, is a compilation and reworking of three MOCKINGBIRD source materials: the film, the reading script, and the novel. ROCKINGHORSE is a family script. The lead is a single father, a lawyer raising two young sons. Societal themes upgraded for the 21st century are: from rape, to sexual harassment; from racial bias, to cybertech bias; and from getting the mental illness stigma, to the getting-high recovery process. ROCKINGHORSE is a comedic drama. This screenplay heavily draws upon humor to lighten up life.
