When we were last together, Jeannie and Jimmy were just finishing the remake of the movie "The Garment Game", and all was right in their worlds. After completion of the movie, Jeannie and Jimmy each recorded a solo album and then one as a duet and did all the necessary videos. Love 'N' Harts' contract with West Coast Studio was renewed for another three years. Even though Jeannie was the owner of "Jeannie Love, Inc." as well as part owner of the studio in Dallas and the group could have easily gone out on their own, they decided to remain with West Coast. This was decided not only for the ease of it but because Rick and Mark knew what Jeannie and The Harts liked to do and allowed them to do all their recording in the JMJ studios. Because of their popularity, Love 'N' Harts were afforded the ability to command more per performance. As far as appearances, Jeannie and The Harts did several short tours on their own and found that their fan-base was just as strong as ever, plus they had a lot of new fans. Jimmy did a short "reunion" tour with The Spooners, and they released a new album. Shortly thereafter, The Spooners officially disbanded the group since each member was having moderate success on his own. Sean was not only very active in music (records, stage productions, movies and TV) but promoting his books as well. Phil was performing music in clubs and teaching. Mark, of course, was very busy with West Coast Productions, and Jim had success in movies and television as well as performing on stage and as a solo music artist. His book was being very well-received, and Spooner fans readily accepted him performing either solo or with Love 'N' Harts. The Spooners disbanded with the promise of keeping in touch and the possibility of maybe having another "reunion" in a few years. As we pick up our story, Jeannie, Jimmy, and The Harts were within two weeks of closing a six-month tour. It was now the end of August and time for the teen-aged members of the troupe to go back to school. The younger children had returned home a week earlier.

The show Friday night was going perfectly; the audience was really enjoying it and having as much fun as Jeannie and Jimmy. There were only ten shows left in the tour, and Toni had decided to return to Richardson that afternoon. Even though she had been with the tour for only a week without the children, she was already missing them, plus needing to get the girls registered for school. Jeff was to join the tour later that night, then go back to Richardson on Sunday with Jena and Jennifer to get them ready for school. As she and Jim were standing in the wings waiting for the start of the show, Jean had a sudden chill and lightly shook her shoulders. Jim noticed and asked if she were all right. Jean just answered yes and she must have been standing in a drafty area, even though she knew that somewhere, something was wrong. Each time she was off-stage changing, she “narrowed in” on each member of her family, but nothing was wrong with any of the children. However when she tuned into Jeff, she got a strange reading from him that she couldn’t understand. In the few minutes that she was alone during intermission, Jean tried to reach Jeff on his cell phone but couldn’t get an answer, and that worried her because she was still getting a static of sorts from his Ankh. But before she could check on it any further, it was time to go back out for the remainder of the show. Then toward the end of the show, during one of their numbers, Jeannie noticed a security guard and two policemen talking with Sarah off-stage. Jeannie was next off to change, so after she got offstage and had her costume switched, she talked with the men. She was told how the airplane that Toni had been on had crashed just as it was landing in Dallas, and she was one of the few people not killed instantly - however she was in very critical condition and the police were there to tell Jimmy. Jeannie turned and looked at Jimmy on-stage and when she saw how happy he was, she turned back and asked the policemen how urgent it was to get Jimmy to where Toni was. When they related that the next plane out wasn’t for another four hours, Jeannie asked them to please wait in the theatre’s office. She wanted to wait until the autograph session part of the show was over to tell Jimmy; after all, they had only about twenty minutes of show and the autograph session left. She also asked if she could be the one to tell Jimmy. They agreed, and the security guard took the policemen to the office to wait. Jeannie then asked Sarah to not say anything to Jimmy, but she should tell Paul as soon as the show was over. Jean also asked Sarah to tell Claudia what had happened and ask her to find out the exact times of the next two flights back to Dallas. As Jeannie waited to go back on, she had another sudden shiver. When Sarah asked her if she were all right, Jeannie replied she was fine, but must have been standing in a draft. Jimmy had noticed Jeannie talking to the men and asked her about it when they finished the show and were waiting to go back out for their encores. She just said she would tell him after they were through for the evening. After the encores and autograph session, Jeannie asked Paul to bring Jimmy to her dressing room as soon as they had changed clothes.
