Since the dawn of civilization, humankind has pondered the purpose of their existence on this planet. We stand in awe of this speck of dust that we call our Earth flying through space at tremendous speed in comparison with the vastness of the universe. We look toward the sky in the hopes of finding something conducive to this understanding. Some give up early in life. In disgust, they try to extirpate those thoughts from their minds only to find vestiges of those thoughts hounding them wherever they wander. They allowed their minds to be molded early in life, limiting their states of consciousness not realizing that not knowing the purpose of existence is what’s causing most of their frustration, pain and sorrow. By limiting themselves, some people are not able to solve some of their more advanced problems; they don’t make the connection that it is due to the limitations they have imposed upon themselves. You hear them cry-out: “Give me that old time religion that was good enough for my mother and father and is good enough for me.” Sure it was good enough for our ancestors. But our ancestors didn’t have the problems that our civilization has today. If they would only allow a little shift in consciousness, it would make a big difference in the quality of their lives. In their frustration, they are constantly looking for mundane substitutes, but the more they gain, the more they find themselves glutting for more. They have no peace in their souls.
