This is a story about a boy growing up in the twenties and thirties during the so-called Depression days. It was difficult to have what you wanted and still not satisfied and wanting more. Mother is taken sick and the Father has to assume responsibility of raising the boys. Ernest had desires to be a major league baseball player. His brothers had no special desire for theirs, wanting to make their own decisions in life at a young life. His interest with girls came at a young age and his Mother was concerned. He was growing up too fast and will end up in trouble, she said. It was difficult for the family to have a parent-child relationship until the time of World War II. The one thing that held them together was the reading of the Bible every day and training of the boys in knowing God and Jesus Christ.
