Presented in this book are daily Scriptures, each with a corresponding prayer. Here’s an example:
“If you continue in my Word, then you are my disciples indeed”. John 8:31
And the corresponding prayer:
Lord, help me to love you more each day. I pray that you would give me a stronger desire for your Word. Help me to continue in your Word and be your disciple.
So having read a verse, you now have a prayer that goes along with it.
Many times we pray as a habit, about any issue, ignoring the Scripture we have just read. Your daily Bible reading should generate a daily prayer!
If you pray only when you need something, there’s a good chance you’re not spending enough time reading God’s word. The Bible tells us what we need and therefore what we should pray for.
When scripture is put in, prayer naturally flows out.
This book is by no means a substitute for daily Bible reading and prayer. Keep it on your desk at work or by your bed to start or finish your day. Use it as a daily reminder that there is an ever-increasing benefit from God’s Word and from time spent alone with Him.
