Discerning The Inner Man


Every member of the human race has a destiny and purpose for being. This destiny is based upon a wonderful and fantastic potential within the depths of his (or her) innermost being. This potential manifests through the individual's awareness and understanding of it as he takes action to fulfill his destiny.

In his search for the ultimate reality with eternal life, a man must first understand his own personal nature of being. This understanding can be developed only as he knows and is sustained through a constant relationship with the Source of his being. This relationship is established and sustained through the absolute principle of being known as the law of cause and effect.

The primary understanding is that man is composed of three parts - spirit, soul, and flesh body. Man is a spirit being with a soul living within a flesh body. Within his innermost being of his spirit man, he is a person. The person is the personal identity within his spirit man that functions through awareness of identity, of self.

Life functions in consciousness, which is the common denominator of spirit, soul, and body. Consciousness functions according to the flow of awareness within it. The heart of the individual is the control center of his consciousness. The heart acts as a gateway of the flow of the spirit of life with awareness between the spirit man and soul of the individual. The potential of the spirit man manifests through the flow of the spirit of life with awareness according to the self image held in the heart of the person. In order to manifest the potential of his spirit man, the self image in his heart must be the exact reflection in awareness of the personal identity of his spirit man.

A person develops the potential of his spirit man through consciousness of being which is manifested through his self image. The potential to be of the spirit man is a seed of being which germinates a spiritual root within the consciousness of that individual. Consciousness of being then manifests through awareness established in his heart. The fruit of the spirit is peace, love, joy, etc. Offence taken against a person, event, or circumstance produces a root of bitterness which then produces a spiritual poison within the heart of the person. This poison corrodes the potential of the spirit man and hinders the positive development of that person's destiny.

The soul is the vehicle of expression of the person of the spirit man. His mind, will, and emotions function within his soul. The potential of the spirit man manifest through his soul according to the orientation of his heart, his frame of reference, mind set, and openness to the flow of awareness from his spirit into manifestation in his life. As the person of the spirit man is rooted in the Source of being, the spirit of life flows vertically from this Source into and through through his spirit and then horizontally between persons.

Bonding between persons establishes the ground of being whereby the spirit man of each one is nurtured. This nurturing is essential in the process that develops one's spiritual root in God. Communication between persons occur in the realm of spirit. However, the bonding of one person to another occurs through the souls of those bonded to each other. Our journey into life proceeds through stages of development. The alignment of the heart determines the speed of the process and the level of attainment of the potential of the spirit man.
