To have an aspiration is to have a strong desire to achieve something noble. Many of us have aspirations, but don’t quite know what to do with them. That is why I have laid out six basic principles in this book to help you create the blueprint of a plan for your future that can turn your strong desires into the attainment of your aspirations.
This book is both inspirational and educational. The inspirational part of this book is designed to share highlights from my life, filled with light humor at times and also to share some lessons I have learned from my life experiences. The educational part of this book will take you through a systematic process for making good and, in some cases, better decisions when planning your future. There are also assessments and practical principles that will motivate: successful thinking, goals planning, and the execution of a concise plan. This book is intended to motivate you to jumpstart your life plans. Why put off for tomorrow what you should do today?
If you approach each chapter with an open mind, you will rediscover some things about yourself and possibly learn things you didn’t realize before. If you have been wondering what has been holding you back from success, with a little effort, you are about to find out. Get ready to be inspired and to make some changes in the way you make choices for your future. This book will consistently remind you of the importance of how thoughtful planning is the key to pursuing your ultimate goals.
I was led to write this book when I suddenly realized how little time we really have to reach our goals, touch the lives of others, and to simply be happy. Life happens at a fast pace, but some people don’t realize it until time has gone by, and then it’s nearly too late. So now is the time to start planning.
Some parts of this book may sound spiritual. In fact, some of the principles in this book may indeed be used for spiritual application. I will take you on my own personal journey of hopes and desires to awaken your greatest hunger for success, which is indeed very spiritual to me. In fact, I believe all humans have a spiritual aspect to their lives. Without a doubt, the principles you will learn will benefit you in many ways.
Take notice of how significant blueprinting is in many aspects of life. Authors have written about blueprinting for weight loss and financial gain. Blueprints are also used in mechanical drawings by architects, and in many other ways. Imagine along with me what your life would be like if you blueprinted your pathway to a successful future and began to work your plan of action. A personal blueprint will allow you to see your life’s journey on paper. It will allow you to see the things you can change, make better, and build upon. This will instill confidence that you are on the right path.
Chapter 1, “Who Are You?” focuses on the importance of knowing one’s self. Who are you? Self can be our worst enemy. Think about your past, present and future. The object of this chapter is to begin a self-study. It inspires self-honesty and self-confidence when looking at the good and not so good things about your past and present in order to proceed toward a better future. You will take a short assessment and answer some simple questions about yourself, your family and friends, likes and dislikes, and so forth. There are no right or wrong answers to the assessment. I only ask that you be open and honest with yourself in order to get a good perception of who you are. It shouldn’t take someone else to tell you who you are. You should know for yourself without hesitation.
Chapter 2, “Inner Being,” is about your inner self. It is a look at the personal behaviors and characteristics that could possibly motivate you to move to the next level in your career, relationships, and life -- or could cause you to be held back from becoming successful. You will take a short assessment and answer some simple questions about your behavior. Again, there are no right or wrong answer keys to the assessment. I only ask that you be open and honest with yourself in order to get a good look at yourself and the full capability of your inner being. You may find that you could be better.
Chapter 3, “Outer Actions,” will help you to understand just why you do the things you do, from choosing friendships to actions and reactions. You will begin to see the people who influence you the most for who they really are. You will be challenged and questioned about your relationships. Everything you do plays an important part in your future success. Believe it or not, other people also play an important role in your success. All of the exercises are created to give you food for thought, and to help create a virtual picture of how your outer actions are conveyed. Consequently, you will be able to make better choices for your future, choices that will bring forth a lifetime of rewards.
