Mama Totes a Shotgun
“Shall we begin, the first entry in on the day after the wedding. How happy she was but there was something that her new husband was not settling in, she could not put a finger on it. There are no names mentioned in any of the entries before they arrived in Watertown.
“Of course, in the middle of construction the local Amish community was there with food and to lend a helping had. She was not dressed like they were, you very rarely saw her in a dress, she loved to wear overalls, apparently she told them she was working and did not want to get her other clothes soiled or torn from handling lumber and such. This was the first encounter with the Elder.
“I thought the Elders were to be most righteous and set a good example for the everyone else,” Ruth Ann said.
“They are and in all of the other communities that we have had any contact with, they are the most kindness Elders you could meet. We just got two bad apples,” Alice said.
“How long was this Elder Jacob a thorn in her side, so to speak?” Nadine ask.
“Not quite eight years, he passed away in early spring. The journals do not say for sure, but it was stated he had a acute pneumonia and would not accept any medical help. His son, the Elder Josiah took his place, there are no details of how this took place.
The Elder was furious, saying Mr. Alman to get his wife out of this church service, that no woman dressed like her has the right to be here.
“You must be out of your mind if you think I am going to confront anyone holding a loaded shotgun, plus I have to live with her.”
Martha finally spoke up after looking as Isaac and saying, well tell her. “Isaac and I refused to let the Elder Josiah oldest son keep company with Miriam,”
“That’s it! Because you do not want to have that lazy, overgrown boy to be a potential husband to Miriam, he has shunned you. That’s stupid, but also I think in taking this action he would shun you into changing your mind and let him come calling. Most importantly you made a very brilliant decision. You and certainly Miriam does not need that lazy boy in the family to keep up,” Aunt Jo said.
“The Elder shunned them because they would not let their daughter court him?” Flossie ask.
Clam Down! About What
“Well, some forth-five minutes ago, you three came in here full of life and laughing. Soon the laughter ceased and all I heard filtering thru the house is anger. Yes, for the past few minuets I have been ease-dropping,” Reed said.
“Sorry, we did not mean to disturb you,” Morgan said with a smirk.
“That is not a problem. But if I may be so bold to make a statement. You are not listening to yourself. I was not paying attention at first and have no idea what started all of this. If you would enlighten me. But first, I think there is something I know that you don’t,” Reed said.
Scholarship
Vera walked in the house and slamming the door behind her, throwing her purse down on the hall table and walked to the foot of the stairs and yelled for Dale to come down.
“What has got your fur in a rise?” Flo ask.
“Yes, what have I done now?” Dale ask.
“Will you tell me why you applied for a Hammond Scholarship?” his mother ask.
“I didn’t apply. If you recall, I have a full scholarship at the university. What makes you think I did? Dale ask. Two Prince’s Journey Home
“Ha! Ha! He was hitting on Brent,” Prince Tom said laughing louder.
“No, he was not!” Brent said with a smirk.
“Oh yes, he was. But that is not the problem, her come those three big mama’s and they defiantly hit on all three of us,” Prince Sam said giggling.
“Anything is possible. You know the boys have not been seen in public for almost ten years. They were short, pudgy, sandy blond with green eyes. Now they are tall, slender, muscular, long dark brown hair and blue eyes,” Brent said.
“I dare say, with short hair, no dye or contacts, Prince Tom would be the spitting image of his father. But, I’m sure that no one has seen him that way, out side of us. Do you think we have had a spy among us?” Sally ask.
Mollie Warfiled
It was my 9th summer when I first saw your great grandfather Luke Henry Warfiled. He was the most handsome human I had ever laid eyes on. He was only eight years old. He looked at me in horror as he came around the side of the general store and almost knocked me down, he was walking so fast he could not stop. As he bumped into me I begin to loose my balance and he grabbed me to keep me from falling.
After we had gained our balance, I looked up at him and said my good man we have got to find a better way of meeting, a girl could get killed this way. His face was in a total look of shock and then he grinned and said my name is Luke Henry Warfiled, I am called Luke Henry. I’m so sorry, did I hurt you. At that point I was not interested if I was hurt or not, I was in heaven as he stood there holding me in is loose arms.
Boys in Trouble
“Our boys are on the verge of becoming fathers. At the mercy of four conniving white trash females,” Poppy answered.
“I’ll not only strangle Jason, I will neuter him,” she said.
