Christopher Columbus tried to persuade Queen Isabella and King Ferdinand to grant him three ships, cargo and a crew to find a new trade route to the Indies. Queen Isabella finally agreed, but the long journey took a toll on Columbus’ crew. If land wasn’t spotted soon, the trip may have resulted in mutiny.
The Gourmet Thanksgiving
(Thanksgiving Holiday)

A mother and her children have the idea of asking each of the guests coming for Thanksgiving dinner to bring a cover dish of their own to help contribute. The mother’s sisters however, take it upon themselves to make some outlandish requests as to what each guest should bring. In the end the guests bring what ever they wanted, making for a very memorable Thanksgiving.
The Magic of Christmas

A contest as to who can show the most Christmas spirit over a three day time period has the school children bickering and fighting with each other. It isn’t until a heavy snowstorm which traps the children in the school building overnight when they are shown the true meaning of Christmas.
Ground-hog Day Dilemma

Students find themselves in way too deep as they play around with the idea of holding a ground hog event at their school. The school principal finds out about it and loves the idea, as he is a big groundhog day fan and enthusiast. The students are reluctant to tell the principal that they don’t want to go through with such an event and that the idea was just a though in jest. The principal however, is determined for this event to take place for the entire school and community. He will not take no for an answer. The student’s major dilemma is the fact that they don’t have a groundhog to hold the event and they have to improvise their creativity to pull it off.
President’s Weekend in Doubt

Former presidents, first ladies and others reconvene for a special session in Philadelphia to figure out what to do about a problem that has come up about the nation’s four day President’s Day weekend. It seems that the nation’s Department of Education wants to do away with the four day weekend. Therefore, the Friday and Monday surrounding that weekend in February will no longer be off for anyone in the country. The president’s are especially concerned over this matter simply because they don’t want to have to go to work. After all, it is President’s Day weekend.
On the Way to the Saint Patrick’s Day Parade

A local freeholder running in the upcoming election has chartered some buses to take the local town’s people to the big annual Saint Patrick’s Day parade a few miles away. He has invited anyone interested to come. And considering the traffic problems people face every year on this day, families have taken him up on it. The problem occurs on the way to the parade. The bus stops at a traffic light and the overly cautious bus driver refuses to drive onward. The green arrow indicating a left turn on the traffic light has burned out. It is against regulations and bus company policy to move the bus whenever this situation occurs. Everyone on that particular bus misses the parade.
The Foolishness of Mr. Parks

And this year, Mr. Parks has been chosen as, “This Year’s Fool.” The day that he has planned for himself is hardly the day that unfolds before him.

The Flag Factory Weekenders

A group of frustrated flag manufacturing employees invent a plan to close the manufacturing plant and go on a wild adventure together for the weekend. While the boss, Mr. Stripe, is expecting to see hundreds of new flags made upon his return from a business trip, he is surprised to hear that his employees were busy camping, visiting the mountains and playing on the beach. In the end, the employee’s jobs are saved as they stretch the truth and give a very good reason as to why they closed the plant and went to those places over Flag Day.
