Americas Choice: Tragedy
James Parr burst into his country home near Montrose, Colorado, slamming the door. His wife, Ann, frowned. She watched him slump into a chair, lean over the table, and clutch his head in frustration.
Placing a hand on her hip, she gave him a stern look. Now what have you and General Leland been up to this time? You look like the world has come to an end.
James, a former Army chaplain, shook his head. Its enough to make a preacher cuss!
What?
I dont know how tell you.
Oh come on, I doubt it can top all the gloom and doom you men have been conjuring up during the past weeks. Has there been another attempt on the generals life?
No-- James tried to go on, but Ann interrupted him.
You went to console Mark while Florence visited her new grandson in the Springs.
Yes, thats part of the problem. His hands chopped the air as he continued. Mark is exasperated because he didnt convince Kenny to move his family here. Ken just cant believe that Colorado Springs is Ground Zero, if and when the Russians and Chinese launch their nuclear attack. Plus, Mark couldnt keep Florence away from her new grandson. She refuses to believe the strike could come within the next twenty four hours.
What? The strike might come tonight? The color drained from her face. She left the stove and sat down at the kitchen table across from him. She did not want to disagree with her husband whom she trusted and loved, but she too found it difficult to believe such a disaster could happen.
James shook his head. Mark got an encrypted email from General Brad Foster, Commander of the Mountain Post at Fort Carson. Foster has begun dispersing his forces into the mountains on an emergency training exercise. Hes doing it on his own initiative. His close friend, Air Force General Robert Scott, has ordered the Stealth bombers in his command on training missions that will take them to isolated sites, along with their support crew and a full compliment of weapons.
Honey, these guys arent noted for irrational actions. Theyre among the few in command positions who dont believe the propaganda coming out of Washington and the administration. The word is that the leadership in Washington has been called away on urgent personal business. Corporate jets are leaving the country in record numbers. Ill lay odds that you will see second-rate reporters handling the national news tonight because the big boys will be hiding in their prepared bunkers.
Ann scooted to the edge of her chair. You mean this may be the attack youve been warning everyone about? Tell me thats not so.
Jamess look of despair revealed the answer. God knows we tried to warn the Christians and call them to repentance. Marks book, our Internet site, the radio talk shows we spoke on, and holding all those meetings, which cost us a lot of money, drew little response. Even knowledgeable people think we are extremists for objecting to national identity cards and roadblocks to catch terrorists.
Americas Choice: Triumph
James Parr, a retired pastor and former Army chaplain, heard a clear command in his mind: Stand! He stood to attention, waiting for the President of the United States to recognize him.
James, seated toward the back of the group of Americas Christian leaders, had been invited to the White House luncheon. Two other leaders started to rise to add their responses to the Presidents speech. The President fixed his eyes on James and nodded in recognition.
Sir, I have a question and a statement, said James with authority. The Almighty God, whom you profess to know and serve, wants to know how you can stand here pretending to want our counsel when, on your desk, is an executive order that you were discussing with your advisors this very morning. The top secret document deals with the use of secret prison camps already built for some of the people in this room and many of their followers.
The smile on the Presidents face vanished. The attention of those in the room was divided. Some stared at James in utter contempt for his gall to question their Christian President. Others were amazed to see the shock of recognition spread across the faces of those seated at the head table.
Jamess voice boomed on. Do you think, sir, that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ did not know you were discussing the demise of millions of His servants last night with select members of your Cabinet? Do you think He does not care when you treat the subject of a preemptive nuclear strike by Russia and China as a mere unfortunate price to be paid for the supposed good of the New World Order? Do you think He approves of you and your elitist friends riding out the attack in the safety of prepared bunkers while our military is wiped out and the fallout condemns millions of people to sickness and death?
The mouths of those at the front table fell open in astonishment. Fear showed in the rapid movement of their eyes. They leaned back in their chairs as the voice of James, the prophet, sounded with even greater force.
You may play the hypocrite with these deceived sheep seated before you. You may make fools of Gods people and the people of America, but God Almighty will not be mocked.
He demands the repentance of leaders as well as the people. Thus sayeth Yahweh God, Creator of the heavens and earth. He will give you, Mr. President, and your administration seven days from this hour to come clean with the American people and validate this prophetic word. Each day you delay telling the truth about your evil plans, every day you hesitate taking steps to turn from that wickedness, you, Mr. President, will pay with the loss of a member of your immediate family or your administration by the hand of Almighty God.
