4James 1:24-25 For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.
All Christians glance and look into the Perfect Law of Liberty. The perfect law of liberty is in the time of Grace brought to us by Jesus. The Perfect Law of Liberty is found in two places. It is found in the written word of God, (the Bible) and it is found in the Spirit, the Spirit of God, which is in your heart.
The work for us to do now, as Christians, is to behold this Perfect Law of Liberty in God. To see yourself in it, to see who you really are, to see your place, to see its perfection, its love and its walk for you to walk, then the work from that point on is to continue in this that you have seen. There is no other work. There is no other thing for a Christian to do. There is no cause and there is no goal but to behold yourself as you really are and continue in that. You are the work.
So then, as you walk with God, what is it that you do in this life? There is only one answer for a Christian as what to do in life; you do what you see. Any observer of the work of a Christian would have to say well, he just does what he does, he does what is in his heart.
Why does a man do a work within this Perfect Law of Liberty? The answer is, because it is what he does. Why do you do this? Its what I do, its who I am.
Likewise, why does a man do a work under the Law? The answer is, that it is always due to the principle of bondage. A man does a work under the Law to either gain something or because he fears what will happen to him if he does not. Under Law a man always does his things for a reason birthed out of his or her bondage to the world and to the Law; either for gain or to avoid punishment. It is to either receive the gain of world or to avoid punishment from the Law.
Under the Perfect Law of Liberty a man always does what he does because it is just what he does and he is free to do it. He is free to be himself, he is free to be and do what he is, he is free to be true to his heart. Under the Perfect Law of Liberty a man does because it is in him to do it and he is free to do what is in him. This is called, the will of God.
Looking Into the Perfect Law of Liberty
What does a man see when he looks into the Perfect Law of Liberty? He sees himself.
James 1:22-25 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.
He sees himself as he really is. He sees into the Spirit and into Liberty which is the freedom of Grace. He beholds himself in God. He sees himself as God sees him. But many, if not most, walk away and forget what they saw. They forget what manner of man they are when they are standing right next to God. In the glass you only see yourself in God. When you leave from beholding, you mingle back into the world and back into a life of being pulled in all directions, being pulled by all that you see of yourself as in the world. You no longer see yourself in the glass; your true inner self with God. You see yourself doing and wanting things in the world, and you fall under the Laws bondage, because now you are controlling yourself with the world and the things of the world, even though you are trying to do good. The Law condemns the things of the world, thus, you never feel as though things are quite right, you never feel the perfection of the freedom in God that is called The Will of God.
But whoso looketh into the Perfect Law of Liberty and continueth therein, he is not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed. What is the work? It is to live with God. It is to not forget what you see and what you hear in those tender moments when you are either within the Word, or within the Spirit and you behold yourself as in the glass. You then continue in what you have seen, and what you have heard, this is the work. The work is to live your life with God in His Grace, and whatever you do as you live like this are things that you do only because you have beheld yourself in God. You do what you do just because this is the way it is between you and your Father in your heart.
John 5:19 Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, Verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.
Jesus looked into God. So then, what did He see and what is the work? The work is to continue being the person you see within your Father and doing the things you see of yourself and Him together, for if your hearts are one then you do the same things and whatsoever you see Him doing, then because you are His son or His daughter, you are able to do the same things, because the same things are in your heart also.
