John, on the Isle of Patmos was given the visions of the future by God Himself, through Christ, by an Angel. The structure of the Revelation or Gods unveiling of the future, is divided into visions of four sevens. There are seven letters to the seven churches of Asia; seven seal judgments; seven trumpet judgments; and, seven vials of the wrath of God. After the beginning of the main body of the prophecy, a parenthesis in which 144,000 Jews receive Gods seal of protection against death. When the seventh seal is opened, the seven trumpet judgments are introduced. At the conclusion of this parenthesis, the seventh trumpet introduces the world-kingdom of Jesus Christ and goes right on to the time when the dead shall be judged, a prophetic outline of the things that shall take place after the Rapture of the church on to the end time. Then there is given a second view of the events, but especially in relation to Israel. In this view, there are details which bring into view, the great actors for good and evil in the last days, the woman clothed with the sun and the moon under her feet; the Man-Child, Christ, Who is to rule the nations with a rod of iron; Michael, the Archangel; the dragon, that old serpent, the devil; the world-confederacy which was formed in 1957 and now in 2006, known as the European Union (EU) and its blasphemous head, the beast, the Antichrist, who looks like a lamb, but speaks like a dragon, the counterfeit of the Lamb of God, Jesus Christ. He is the abomination of desolation, who will be given power over the European Union, which shall be taken over and ruled by the Antichrist, the abomination of desolation. A heartening view of the consummation of the Millennium Kingdom is given before depicting the closing agonizing trials in detail of the last half of the Tribulation, the last three-and one-half years known as the Great Tribulation which will take place after the Antichrist is given rule over the world nations, after the Rapture of the church. At the close of the Millennial dispensation, the final judgment takes place. The heavens and the earth, as they are now known, with all the works of man will be destroyed, and there shall be brought in new heavens and a new earth where God will be all throughout an eternity of bliss. While the wicked, those who have rejected the Lord Jesus Christ and despise the boundless mercy He has bestowed in His salvation, will be cast into the lake of fire. There they will suffer on, and on, and on, nevermore to find their way back into the presence of God. Dwelling isolated, even one from another, alone in indescribable horror and unending agony, in unbearable loneliness and pain, screaming in agony, with no one to hear or bring relief throughout eternity. The Book of Revelation (Apocalypsis) concludes with a glorious vision of the City of God, the Holy City, Jerusalem. The heavenly home of the redeemed saints of God and the full blessing that is promised to them throughout the ages of ages.
