Bernadette Bunny, who prefers being called Bennie, liked being outside. She likes to play hopscotch, jump rope, and play on the slide. Bennie loves walking through the forest because of all the pretty flowers and trees. One day on her way home from school, Bennie saw a beautiful tree. It had leaves of red, yellow, orange, and green Bennie loved this tree so much so, that every day she would rush home from school and finish doing her chores just so that she could get a bucket of water for her beautiful tree.

Bennie loved to help her mother with the chores. Everyday after school Bennie would help by making her bed and...washing dishes that were left over in the sink... and dusting her room with a sparkling feather. Once Bennie had finished her chores she would rush outside with a big bucket of water. She couldnt wait to water her favorite tree. She wished that her tree could talk, just so she could tell it all of her secrets. Each day Bennie made sure to water her tree. Even on days that there was no school. She would wake up extra early in the morning just so that she could take care of her tree.
