I Can Make it Through the Rain

Now my life has been put before you,
You walked with me faithfully as you read it through.
God truly eased my troubles and pain,
As He so mercifully allowed me to make it through the rain.

So many of you out there have seen what Ive seen,
So many have stepped in the shoes where Ive been.
Some verses bring laughter, others bring tears,
As I scroll through my life adding up the years.

Yes, so many years as I go back in time,
Trying to put it all in rhythm and rhyme.
I really dont know how you perceive me,
But I told my story the way I felt it should be.

I wrote it so simple, so all could understand,
Each line of my life God guided my hand.
The things that Ive done, I dont regret,
Because these are the things that Ill never forget.

Each day as you live, your life you mold,
Though at times the circumstances may be outrageous and bold.
Most of us keep things hidden within,
Praying that somehow things will eventually mend.

You see my lifestyle is simple and ordinary,
But the gifts God gave me are extraordinary.
Hey, somewhere dues have to be paid,
And sacrifices have to be made.

As you eagerly glanced your eyes across each page,
Feeling my emotions, feeling my rage,
You knew at times I had nothing to lose, nothing to gain,
But remember theres always sunshine after the rain.

I know that as you read on you were feeling me,
And said to yourself, ooooh weee.
This sister has had some rainy days,
But at the same time you became amazed.

But there are hundreds of thousands of me out there,
Im your sister, your Mother, Im your Aunt Claire.
To keep up the struggle, is a long haul,
Just hold your head up and unto God call.

When the sun comes out and the clouds roll away,
You see a much brighter day.
Never give up hope, because when you do,
Thats when life continues to rain down on you.

No, Im not a great novelist or science fiction author,
Just an inspirationalist, nothing less, nothing more.
I live it in my poetry; I live it in song,
With God as my navigator, how could I go wrong?

Before I end this book with closing thoughts,
I pray that inspiration to you it brought.
And I know that no matter how tough the pain,
God will also bring you through the rain.

You see.. I can make it through the rain.
