QUAN EXCERPT
First, a few words about death and dying, Quan started in. Of all the mixed up, erroneous notions people have about the universe, their ideas related to death are among the most off-target. There are essentially three myths. All of them relate directly to the age-old question: Who am I?
The first myth is that a person can die. This is not true. There is no after-life. There is only life. You will never die. Your body will disintegrate, much to the delight of a variety of hungry insects, but you will not die. You cannot die. After all, who are you? Weve gone over some of this before. Its important to revisit and expand upon what we have talked about.
Are you your body? No. You have a body, but you are not that. Are you your brain? Is your dwelling place your brain? Is that where I would find you? No. If I dissected your brain I would only find brain tissue. I would not find you there.
I still believe I am my mind and my soul, Ben-Jai said. Am I on the right track?
Somewhat, Quan answered. But in order to go further into the nature of who you are we have to talk about individuation and illusion. Ultimately who you are is All That Is.
Quan paused. Wait a minute, he said. Ill be right back. He didnt go anywhere. He just closed his eyes and remained silent.
After a few minutes of waiting, everyone started to talk among themselves. Shh, shh! Zulfi shushed them all.
Its okay, Zulfi, Quan said, opening his eyes. I found what I was looking for.
What were you looking for? Mariah asked.
I wanted to make sure what I was seeing was accurate. What I saw was the idea that God is All That Is can be improved upon, it can be described more accurately. As I listened to myself say the words All, That and Is, it was revealed to me that there is a more accurate way to refer to God. I saw that the word That indicates a form of separation between All and Is. So I shall from here on not say All That Is but shall instead, in referring to God in this way, say All Is. Do you hear the difference?
Yes, I do, Daniel said. Yes, God is simply All Is.
All is, Quan repeated. Yes, I like that. He bowed toward the heavens. Thank you, he said.
Who are you thanking? Justin asked.
Every individual on this planet has a variety of Spirit Guides, Quan answered. You, for example, Justin. You do not merely have a guardian angel as angel mythology has indicated. You, like each of us, have many Spirit Guides.
Where do you think the best of your ideas come from? An important difference between you and me is I have learned to listen to what they have to tell me. Another difference is I have had the pleasure of being with them on other planes of existence.
Most people are waiting to hear voices out loud talking to them from the other side. Spirit Guides do not typically speak out loud. They communicate within you. Do you think all the thoughts that enter into your head are generated by you? Not at all.
Monsieur Quan, Mariah said. How can we learn to listen to our guides?
Great question, Mariah. The first thing to do is to get in touch with who they are or at least the essence of who they are as spirits. You may not be able to see and meet them as I have been privileged to do, but you can get a sense of their essences.
When you are in quiet meditation, simply ask for one of them to come forward. Wait. Listen. Feel. You may be able to get a sense of them one at a time this way. You will feel whether they are male or female or relatively without gender. You will feel whether they are gentle in their approach to you or strong.
Then open your hearts and minds to what this loving spirit has to say. If you hear nothing, ask a question. Then listen for the answer. It will come. You may want to give this beautiful being a name.
Then, on another day, again having gone to a quiet place inside yourself, call another guide forth and go through the same process. You will know when you have made contact with your key guides.
Why dont they contact us more directly? Ben-Jai asked.
Its simple, Quan answered. After so many instances of you not paying any attention to them, not distinguishing that it is they who are speaking to you, and after so many instances of you not listening to them, they have gotten tired of trying and have stopped communicating as much. Besides, if too much was to be revealed to you in this game of life, the masquerade wouldnt be so dramatic and entertaining.
So the first thing to do is to get to know your guides on a much more personal basis. Communicate with them often. Tell them you are now listening. Ask them questions; then listen for their wisdom. You will see how instant and on target it is. Be careful, though. Occasionally a mischievous spirit can get into the communication and tell you a wrong thing, like a wrong action to take. You must learn to trust your ability to tell the difference.
How many Spirit Guides do people have? Nanji asked, helping Lili reach the bread.
It has been my experience that people have at least three or four, Quan said. I myself have many that come and go, but there are four with whom I interact most frequently. There is a wise old man who is as old and as wise as time itself. Hes bald. His name is Geo. Then there is Rama, a beautiful and loving feminine spirit who I like to think of as my own personal Fairy Godmother. Then there is a teenage-ish, mischievous little fellow I call Xanadu and finally a little five-year-old boy, Petro. In many ways each of them represents a part of myself.
