Excerpt from 'Clear Vision'
Sitting on the dunes overlooking the ruffled Atlantic Ocean, watching the waves breathing in and out, I asked for guidance and as I moved deeply into my meditation, 'May You Have Clear Vision' was given to me. I was blessed with these words in 1982. Over the years, it has been used as a farewell at commencement exercises, as a gift for my Reiki Master Teacher students and friends, as a guideline and discussion point for my metaphysical classes and as a guiding light on my own spiritual path.
Prayer and meditation are two sides of the same coin. Over the years my studies have shown me that prayer is talking to God, Jehovah, The Infinite Intelligence, Higher Power, Universal Life Force, or whatever you call The Creator. My prayer invokes the spirits presence. It is a request for a comforting ear, to have needs met. We are asking for forgiveness, healing, and blessings.
Meditation is a time of quiet, a time to listen for the answer. So then we must be still and listen to the small voice within. The sacred place within our hearts is where God answers our prayers. All that is needed is to be quiet and listen. Finding that still point within each of us is the first step on the healing path. One does not have to step outside of ones own faith to be one with the Creator, to be connected with all life and to walk and dance with joy on the healing path with clear vision.
Meditation is turning to our God consciousness, or Higher Power, Infinite Intelligence, or whatever we understand that Energy to be. Meditation is not about blotting out the world. Its about becoming a vehicle for bringing the highest good for ourselves and our world.
