EXCERPT
America Shall Be Free, is a poetic, philosophical, historical, and a biblical appraisal of how America had survived its trials. Moreover, the work had been baptized with fiction episodes. Right from its independence on July 4th, 1776, America began a rough road to greatness. It started with war. Today, America is still fighting. Yet, in the midst of wars, America is ever united and great. This is the miracle of America's survival.
Soon after independence, America found itself in civil war. Observers, probably, thought it was finished. However, the unity of America had been sustained. This is the work of God because there is a great conviction that no weapon fashioned against America shall prosper. As God directed, even unto all mankind, America reconciled with its former adversaries. It yielded to the dictate of reason that we all might continue to participate in the brotherhood of man.
As it was a universal epidemic those days, America was not spared from the evils of slavery. It was one of the most slaves-enriched countries in the world. Slaves helped to propel the course of American capitalism and industrialization. But to hold slaves seemed to be a sin against mankind and even existence itself. Despite scriptural references in the Bible that slaves or servants should obey their masters, there is evidence in the Bible to prove that holding slaves is a crime against mankind. However, America propelled the course of abolition of slavery. To those who were in bondage freedom was given.
However, the evils of slavery are still in our society today. All over the world, people are still enslaved in one way or the other. There is a new age slavery which is far more difficult to abolish. Moreover, the institution of the abolished slavery had created both black and white communities in various parts of the world. The consequence being that in the same nation, there is racial discrimination. And the survival of America depends upon the joint efforts of its racial constituents. Consequently, man drives toward the attainment of equality. People had argued that equality is had to attain. It seems true that even in the same house, whether black or white, there is no equality. There is inequality amongst brothers and sisters. This is a dictate of nature which cannot be reversed by any person. Essentially, this is not an evil thing. The evil aspect arises from deliberate attempts to deprive another person of his entitlement because of his color, age, or sex, or his past position of servitude. America should be able to lead the world and give unto all colors the advantage of organic equality, even if it remains difficult or impossible to achieve inorganic equality.
America would not be what it is today, but for war. America didn't invent war. America was a victim of aggression several times. It was its attempts to answer challenges of aggression in war that made it come to the limelight as a superpower. The First World War had nothing to do with America when it started. Nevertheless, the acts of Germany by sinking American vessels made America to enter the theater of war, otherwise it was neutral. It was the coming of America to the theater of war that saw the end of the war in favor of the allies. Moreover, America participated fully in the peace treaty that followed. Yet, war is an evil thing till the end of the age.
Peace had not lasted for a reasonable time before the Second World War of aggression started. Again, America had nothing to do with it. Unfortunately, Japan attacked Pearl Harbor. As a result, America entered the theater of war. As it would be, America contributed to the end of that war. America had come to the peak of greatness by means of war. May God give America the wisdom to sit in the table of brotherhood of nations and make agreement on the absolute prohibition of war because, war for whatever purpose, is a crime against God and humanity.
As a result of war, communism emerged as a global force, not limited to the boundaries of Soviet Russia. The Soviet liberation army had imposed communism on the eastern European countries it liberated from Germany. It had also imposed communism on East Germany which was separated from the West by means of a wall known as the iron curtain that became the symbol of the cold war. Communism seemed to be engulfing the whole world until it began to crumble in the last two decades of the last century. No matter the force of communist threat, America survived, and smarshed communism.
The reigning thing today is terror against America. Why is America so hated by the apostles of terror? No matter what be their motive, America had come to be in a theater of war that seemed to be without end because terrorism is partly human and partly a ghost. It is an evil devised by man to injure man. Moreover, it is a ghost, haunting humanity. America may successfully end the human aspect of terror, but to end the ghost aspect of terrorism needs divine intervention.
The world is now going to its last phase. It is the phase of absolute scientific power when it might be easier to manufacture weapons of mass destruction than to bake a piece of cake. Every day, the world is moving to the center of a keg of explosive. This is where America had been called upon to use its power and influence to make rules for the universal emancipation of mankind from the claws of war and injustice. This is the America Promise to Humanity.
In whatever trouble it comes across, it seems God had decreed that AMERICA SHALL BE FREE. In its freedom, it is the duty of America to save mankind.
