Biography:
Joseph E. Hale was born Joseph Donnelly in Yokohama, Japan in 1937. He lived in Japan during WWII as an American. Joe attended St Joseph’s College in Yokohama and graduated from Hawaii’s Punahou School in 1956. He attended Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service in Washington, D.C. He joined Pan American World Airways and over a 33 year career rose to become its Managing Director for Japan, Korea and China. Joe married Marguerite Hart of Springboro, Ohio. They have a daughter, and son plus three grandchildren and three great grandchildren. The couple have been married 54 years.
