Karen Shannon has aspired to be a writer for most of her adult life, but many setbacks prevented her from achieving that goal. After recently recovering from a life-altering experience, she realized how short life can be, and how her sense of humor helped her overcome the many obstacles in her life. These experiences motivated her to attain her goal.

After being uprooted most of her life, she finally settled in a small town in Texas where she lives with her sister and feisty cat. She enjoys traveling, frequent trips to Las Vegas, and spending time with her son.
