Fernando Ramirez was born in 1936, in Karnes City, Texas. His parents, as children, came to Texas in 1910, after fleeing the turmoil of the revolution in Mexico. His earliest memories are of being an agricultural migrant and growing up in San Antonio and South Texas. As a young man, he served with the US Marines in the Far East; graduated from the University of Texas at Austin; and worked in professional positions with the State of Texas, and later, the federal government. His one prior writing credit is “Leaving before the Snow” (Curbstone Press). He has two grown children and hails from Von Ormy, Texas.
