This is an amazing story of how a person can have their credit identity stolen and how you can avoid a real financial nightmare.

Abstract:
This is an amazing and powerful first hand accounting of credit identity theft, and is a vital tool towards understanding what we are all up against in our current age of data collection and unchecked usage. The author, Denise Richardson, paid a little extra on her mortgage each month, hoping to shorten the length of her mortgage and pay less interest charges. That simple, recommended practice catapulted her into a decade of epic David vs. Goliath battles, stealing her true credit identity and 10 years of her life.

What you don't know can really hurt! , 12/22/2006
Reviewer: Joe Sindoni
This audio book should be in everyone’s CD or MP3 player! There is so much useful information packed in this book, it can not only save you lots of money, but lots of headaches. Nothing can throw your life into a tail spin more than when your credit gets messed up. The way our personal information is shared today - or stolen, no one is safe. And it can affect everything. The author not only warns of the many pitfalls, she tells how to avoid them. And just as important, how to resolve them. We think the government is looking out for us, but they’re not. They are looking out for the big guys. Unfortunately, we have “the best government money can buy.” And the banking/credit industry has lots of money for “lobbying” (read bribing). We (the little people) are on our own. We need advocates like Denise Richardson to mobilize us. Or at the very least educate us. Every person, whether they buy the book or not, should at the very least sign the petition on the authors web site. In this case, what you don’t know can really hurt you.

Powerful story and an eye opener! , 03/08/2007

I received a copy of this book a a gift and expected it to be another boring book on debt & credit. I was blown away. It is a powerful story that you won't want to put down and one you will want to keep as a guide when identity theft or a number of consumer credit issuses unexpectedly land in your life. It's easy to see why she had to write this book and easy to understand her passion to help other people. Way to go Ms. Richardson -we need more of you out there fighting for those who can't. This could and should be a movie -just utterly unbelievable what this woman went through. Five stars for her passion and efforts. I highly recommend this to everyone. You will be pleasantly surprised that it isn't another boring book on credit.
