Abstract:
“Bones of Ozymandias: Special Places in Greece” gives the reader a personal view of some of the many historic sites of Greece. But don’t expect a tour of the Parthenon; instead, the work concentrates on less famous areas and ruins, frequently accompanied by little known anecdotes culled from ancient sources, and enlivened with entertaining digressions based on the author’s personal interests and experience. The book includes photos of a number of ancient sites, such as Oiniadai, Lilaia, Samikon and Orchomenos, which are rarely pictured in other publications.
