So Speak They … is a collection of eight short stories spanning the heroic life of Florentino Gandesa. It speaks of lost love, life, spirit encounters, revolution, and time travel. Each story promises something stunning. Florentino, who was killed in the Normandy Invasion, appears in each of the stories as the protagonist, although in some tales, he is but a cardboard character. The fictional accounts are told by the Florentino Gandesa Society, a circle of people committed to the legacy of a man who played a critical role in each of their lives. The Society disbanded on the publication of this collection.

After reading all of the stories it’s a very nice read which is unusual for short story collections. This book keeps you wanting more and is very hard to put down. It pulled me in from the begining and impacted me quickly until the end. I particularly enjoyed “The Postmaster”, “Atocha”, and “Maria Pistolas”. “Leaving before the Snow” is a real tear-jerker. I applaude his work and would highly recommed it to all.

Fernando Ramirez really did a great job in painting a picture for every story. As I read every word, I felt as if I was living within the pages of his book. The variety of his tales makes the book enjoyable for any type of reader. There is a little bit of everything for everyone. You must get this page turner. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did,
