IGNORANT OF THE HOLY SPIRIT


I have often asked people this question, “Who is the Holy Spirit?” Some people will just look at you and say nothing. Others will say the Holy Spirit is an “it;” some say it is a “force” of God. They are all wrong.


How can people be so ignorant, to reduce the Holy Spirit down to nothing more than a thing or a force? There are people who have been in church all their lives (some for 20 to 50 years!) who don’t know that the Holy Spirit is a person, like Jesus. I know He is a person – because the Bible says so! Most preachers do not preach on the subject of the Holy Spirit. If they did, you would know significantly more about Him.


The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Truth. You can hear Him speak when you read your Bible, like as Jesus spoke in His time. Just read your Bible. Do not tell people that you hear the voices of angels. Some Christians have claimed they’ve been visited by or spoken to by angels or even by Jesus, Himself. What makes you so special, that Jesus made a trip to come talk to you? This is a lie, spoken by people who claim to know the word of God. The Bible says, when He comes back, He will come on a cloud. Listen to the Word, “Jesus, He was taken up; and a cloud received Him out of their sight, and while they looked steadyfast toward Heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; Which also said, ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, Which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen Him go into heaven.” Acts 1: 9-11


John said in Revelation 1:7, “Behold, He cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see Him, and they also which pierced Him; and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of Him. Even so, amen.” Preachers and people, we need to stop saying that Jesus came down before His time to talk to us. On the day of the Lord, the ones who are alive will know His coming. Read in I Thessalonians 4:15-16, “For the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God.”


These people talk as if Jesus slipped down from Heaven to talk to them, but the Word says He will come with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God. I have not yet seen or heard this. If you want to hear Jesus talk, read your Bible. It says in Hebrews 10: 7, “Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the Book, it is written of me.) to do thy will, O God..”

Jesus sits up high and looks low; He is not coming down until the world comes to an end.
