Abstract:
Edward Lull presents a series of incidents from his life in this unique memoir that uses poetry and essay forms to tell the stories. He divides the book into three discrete segments: The Early Years (youth through college); The Middle Years (career and parenting); The Later Years (retirement times). The poetry is a blend of free verse and form poems (rhyme and meter). The three essays relate interesting events from his Navy career: one aboard a destroyer in the Pacific; one while on shore duty in the Los Angeles area; the third from aboard a submarine in the Atlantic.
