Read about the life experiences of someone who grew up in Moscow, USSR, realized that there is more to life than building a socialist society through stagnation and conformity, and emigrated to the USA. The book depicts everyday life, relating experiences in a down-to-earth, sometimes humorous way, and explores many aspects of Russian and American culture. It has elements of self-discovery, romance, and adventure. These stories collectively constitute a memoir, and while they are chronologically connected, each is suitable to be read separately.

This book is also for a friend, for a person who thinks about the world and God, who asks questions about the past, and who is in search of the happiest way to live.
