A Journey Into Life
A child is born and begins his search for identity and purpose for being. In his search for identity, he is looking for life's truth's and the reality viewed from a child's perspective of this world. As he views his environment, the impression of this child's senses of awareness reveals that the things of this world are constantly changing. He was looking for absolutes.
His understanding of reality begins through the process of developing his self image while seeking the source of being and life. He discovered that his self image was affected by his impression of how others saw him. Then he recognized that the key to understanding is known as the law of cause and effect, the first absolute that he discovered. There must be a cause for every effect. Therefore, there must be a source of being and life, the primary absolute from which all reality manifests!
At church, he learned about God, who is the Source of his being and life. At the age of seven, during his baptism in water, his conscious awareness experienced the light of eternal life shining deep within him from the spirit realm. With an absolute sense of knowing, he knew that this light imparted the spirit of life to his spirit man. He was alive in a way that he had never known before this moment in time.
During his pre-teen and early teen years, his search for the eternal reality led him into a comparison of science, philosophy, and the Bible. His first impression of the physical universe was his awareness of the vast distances of the physical universe. His most lasting impression was the awareness that discoveries of nuclear physics revealed these vast distances between subatomic particles of matter also occurred in the microcosm of the atom. It appeared that solid matter was not solid but was composed of infinitely minute particles of matter separated by vast distances of nothing. This awareness resulted in an even greater search for the ultimate reality.
Then during his latter teen years, the depression of the thirties, including hard work on a farm, left little time for study or his search for spiritual reality. Then military service, a serious physical disability, numerous hospitalizations, and financial difficulties following world war II drastically altered his life. Survival became his primary priority for over two decades.
During the proliferation of metaphysical concepts, the Jesus movement, and the philosophical turbulence of the 1960's, he began his ultimate search for truth. This search focused his attention to develop wisdom and understanding that renewed his journey of life into the eternal spiritual reality. His primary discovery was the awareness that the person of his spirit man was his true self. In 1974, he discovered the person of his spirit man which is enlivened by the flow of the spirit of life within his spirit man.
During the 1980's and 1990's, his interest in the most recent discoveries of science, as compared with the Bible, was renewed. His interest focused upon the nature of light, energy, and matter. He discovered the correlation between the true discoveries of science and the Bible.
His most significant discovery was that the personal identity within his spirit man is his true self. The person of your spirit man is the real you. Through awareness of the person of the spirit man, the development of character based upon this person manifests the identity and potential of the spirit man in the life of the individual. The understanding of this flow of the spirit of life with awareness through the spirit man is developed further in volume 2 of a 3 volume series which is entitled The Promise Of Life by Stephen LeRoy Miller.
