Excerpts:
from Apropos of Atropos:
Ulysses barely noticed as the minute hand moved one click closer to the end. He knew he would not be offered a second chance this was itthere could be no turning back. It was all or nothing, the whole hog, the whole megillah, the whole kit and caboodle, the real deal; not just a few little, gunky chunks of waxbut the entire ball of wax. This one was for all the marbles. All of his eggs were in one basket, and, if he dropped it, there were no chickens about to provide any extras; there could be no broken eggs in the making of this proverbial omelette.
But there could be no holding back if he was to succeed; he had to go forth boldly and overcome whatever obstacles might be strewn in his path along the way. And never could he allow himself to forget, for even the slightest, little bit of a moment, the magnitude of the situation; he was fully aware of the importance of his impending endeavor, and when it was finished well, then the world, at long last, would know! (For how could they not!) Ulysses knew such dire tidings should not be made light of; in the long runon the wholehe was faced with circumstances that were, by and large, for all intended purposes, of a matter both utterly demanding and thoroughly uncompromising in their seriousness. Should he lose focus of the gravity of the task which yet stood before him, even only briefly, throughout the course of his dramatically unexpurgated attempt, should he allow even but the hint of a whisper of a giggle to disrupt his concentrated contemplationsall would be lost
Froggies 3: The Great Equalizer
The World is inconvenient for me surely it is folly to go on. Maybe youre already dead. Dangerous words whispered from the darkness I should live so long to be already dead! Oye!
I look around in wonder at the random acts of imbibed oblivion; amidst the swarming throng, I am alone in seeing how far we have strayed from the Truth it is like Death here but with more dancing.
Monkey Business
I want to see her, be near her, touch her
No, no!
You go too far! but I can allow myself no quarter for she is Everything
Which one now?
Either of two
What of the third?
Shes out this week She is all I think about, all I dream of, the only one I ever truly loved!
Stop! Go back!
Its too much! Such burning passion never before have I felt its like I drip with sweat it rolls down my face, stinging my eyes; it flows down my body, collecting in my navel my very perspiration serves as a moist testament of my desire for her!
Could be the weather
Or maybe youre coming
down with something She infects me a disease in my heart that I care not to cure; a plague of the soul that reaps me ever nearer to salvation or damnation
A rash on the genitals
that burns and itches! like the stale and musty underpinnings rotting in the damp cellar of my being, the memory of her essence lingers in my mind, clings to what I would be, and, in her absence
Stinky, stinky, stinky, poo! slowly begins to deteriorate
from Nine Shades of Love
Beneath a palm tree at the edge of the beach, I sat with eyes closed, embraced in the warmth of waning day, enjoying the clean, clear scent of the ocean. Lulled by the hypnotic enchantment of the waves against the shore, accompanied by the music of the birds and wildlife in the jungle behind me, I felt as if drifting in a dream, wrapped within a cocoon of unreality. But, as dusk approached, an ever so slightly cooler breeze caressed me with refreshing fingers of air; I opened my eyes to behold the only vision that could make the moment more perfect
Cast in the golden aura of the setting sun, of such immaculate beauty, she could only be the goddess of summer. She strode purposefully, yet with casual grace, toward me, and her dark, determined eyes never released me from their hold for even a second. Raising a delicate hand to brush back several strands of hair that had blown into her face, I wondered if the hint of auburn in those long, lustrous, chocolate brown tresses were real or the effect of the twilight sun rushing toward its nightly rendezvous with the sea.
As she drew nearer, I became increasingly awed by her radiance; never before had I been blessed by a sight so fair! No artist on earth could imagine, let alone create, such perfectionher finely sculpted chin, her full lips, her noble cheekbones, her slender nose, her smoldering eyes, her irresistibly luscious earlobes it was nearly too much to take in
My eyes strayed to the rest of her preeminent form
