The Teacher that changed my life the most is Gurmukh Khaur Khalsa. I am so thankful to God/Universe who sent me to her during the most difficult time of my life: a few years after a devastating divorce I showed no signs of healing the traumas and letting go of the painful past, I also had problems at work and constant lack of money, but the most serious were the health problems - pain in the knees (thanks to the many years of practicing martial arts), chest pain and a cholesterol level that was so far beyond normal that my doctor called me in for a special conversation: Listen, crazy girl, - he said -you are still young, but if you dont change your fast way of living and learn to relax, soon you will end up with a heart attack. Its a real miracle that it didnt happen yet. You are not living your life, you are running through it and that is never good. On my way home that faithful day, I decided to begin a healthy way of living, having more time for meditation and spiritual practices. I was finally ready to get rid of my fears and let go of the pain and all the drama. Like usually, the hardest part is to become ready for the change, the rest is easy. It seems like the whole Universe comes to your risqu and helps you to stick to the right path. The very same day I shared with my friend James Sia that I am on the most important spiritual quest of my life. He smiled and invited me to the World exhibition of Buddhas sacred relics in a Buddhist Temple in Korea Town in Los Angeles. I will never forget this. Hundreds of people from different age, faith and skin color came to the Temple, and we all felt the incredible positive energy there. Suddenly my friend exclaimed: Nelly, this is your lucky day! - and showed me a beautiful woman with the fine presence of Nefertiti who just entered the room - This is Gurmukh, Los Angeles beloved Kundalini yoga teacher - James said with excitement - go and talk to her, she will change your life forever. Dressed all in white, with an exquisite white turban, bracelets and traditional Indian jewelry, she looked more like an Indian sage. Her face is so beautiful fresh and young with no sign of aging; so much calmness and nobility came from her. She invited me to try Kundalini at her Golden Bridge Yoga Center in Los Angeles. On the very next day I went for my first class of yoga and at the end I felt so happy that I cried Thanks to Gurmukh and to the every day Kundalini practice and meditation I quickly improved my health, I finally let go of the past and healed my soul. She challenged me to reach my spirit and connect it with the mind and body, to accept myself in the way God created me - a beautiful, happy and healthy human being
I have been interested in Kabbalah for the last few years. Thanks to my teacher Gahl Sasson I started studying and going deep into this ancient spiritual system, designed to create harmony and balance in the individual as well as the Universe. Gahls classes on Kabbalah, Astrology and Past lives are so interesting and the feeling to unveil the past is incredible. Impressed by the wisdom and knowledge of the young man I invited him to be a special guest on our radio show Love Calls (Ive worked on this top LA show for awhile in 2005). Just before the program started we had a little party. I treated all my colleagues because my first book in America was just published in the Bulgarian Language. Gahl looked at the book and asked me for a copy. But, the book is in Bulgarian Can you read Bulgarian Language? - I asked. He look at me and with a big smile on his face said: I cant, but my father can. Well, this came as lightning from a clear sky; in the most unexpected way I found out that his grandmother Victoria Palmestrone was Bulgarian, a very famous designer from Varna, his father Moshe Sasson can still speak Bulgarian and some of his relatives live in Varna, Bulgaria. Small world Since then I became even more interested in Kabbalah, the science that allows us to communicate and receive messages from the Light. (By the way, the show got one of the highest ratings the night when my teacher was guest in the studio. Explicably, his knowledge and astrological predictions amazed everybody. He fired up all the lines in the studio). The interview that I made with Gahl Sasson after the show was published in Nedelnik, the largest Bulgarian newspaper abroad and in Trud, the largest newspaper in Bulgaria. Gahls interview was the top, leading material and received phenomenal response
I interviewed many extraordinary, famous people, presidents, there are a few very exciting moments that I will always remember. One of them is the night I interviewed Lisa Marie Presley, recording artist of Whom it May Concern and Now What?, the only daughter of Rock and Roll legend, Elvis Presley. I met her on the red carpet of the 13th Annual Spring Benefit Concert and Award Show of the American Society of Young Musicians in House of Blues in West Hollywood. Lisa was honored with the Favorite New Female Rock Vocalist Award. Her appearance on the red carpet with mother Priscilla Presley and boyfriend, guitarist/producer, Michael Lockwood was a pleasant surprise for everybody. Gentle, noble presence, delicate Lisa was so nice, down to earth, modest, shy for a minute only silence felt the air, only the sound of many snapping and rolling cameras could be heard, then she came to us, the journalists, to answer some questions
